I tested a lot of configurations and setups, running them through the mixer so I could punch in different combinations and see what they sound like. Showing these tests added to much time for no purpose to the last video on making the first pickups. But they might be interesting to someone interested in both how it worked and what they sounded like, so I mixed footage of testing one set of pickups into its own video. I also cover the basic issues again, illustrating them with sound. I quickly run through various combinations of pickups in different locations on the dulcimer, and you hear the sound of the first true electric dulcimer. And yes, while the video fades out after a few minutes, I went on to play for hours that day, just listening to this sound, never before heard in the world, and it was good. It was great.
