I shift to working on the website, but realize I have to multi-task, not focus on single projects. So I start working on video again as well. I start making videos about building the first wound pickups for the dulcimer. I can’t help being a pioneer it seems. And a final Tour Journal to provide background for the studio journals.

The coils are made by winding wire onto a bobbin mounted onto a winding machine. The bobbin controls the size and shape of the coil, but is separate from the machine, so has its own story, and video.

A quick but detailed description of the machine I built for winding coils to make magnet-coil induction pickups for the electric hammered dulcimer, basically the same as electric guitar pickups, but much longer. I show each part, step by step, what it is for and how I did it.
